She stared down the road to Gerard's house. She wiped the tears off her face and crossed the street. She knocked on the door and waited, shoving her hands in the pockets of her hoodie to protect herself from the cold. It opened and Mikey looked at her.
"hey." He said sleepily. "Hey you okay?"
"Yeah.. I'm fine. Can I crash here tonight?"
"Oh. Yeah. Gerard said you'd wanna sleep here." He moved out of the way and she looked at Gerard. He sta on the couch, holding her raggedy teddy bear.
"You left Mr. Gosh." He said, smiling. She grinned despite herself.
"I missed him. Thank you." She sat down, taking the bear.
"So what went wrong this time?" He asked.
"Aiden. He's drunk again."
"I don't see why you haven't divorced him yet. He's such a jerk." She nodded.
"Yeah I know. But I'm scared that if I divorce him he might come after me." She said. Gerard sighed and hugged her.
"I won't ever let that bastard hurt you. You know that." He told her. She smiled.
"Thanks Gee. Your the best."
"I know." He replied. She laughed. "You want anything? Blanket? Pillow? Drink? Perhaps another bear to keep Mr. Gosh company?"
"A blanket'd be nice." She smiled. He nodded and left the room. When he returned he had a couple blankets in his arms.
"There ya go." He said, setting them next to her. "You wanna sleep on the couch or in my bed? I don't mind sleeping out here."
"I couldn't put you out of your own bed, Gerard." She said.
"You could!" He scoffed. "You're just too nice to think of yourself over me. Have some beck bone."
"Oh I'm spineless." She smiled. He hugged her again and kissed her on the cheek.
"Night, babe."
"Night." She answered. He left the room and she felt lonely until she fell asleep.

She awoke to pounding on the door.
"LET ME IN, DAMN IT!! I KNOW SHE'S IN HERE!" She heard Aiden scream. She felt a wave of panic rush through her. Gerard came out and notioned for her to leave the room. She shook her head.
"I'm not letting you face him alone." She said.
"Come on. You make me feel weak. I can handle him." She sighed and walked away, watching from the hallway. Gerard opened the door. Aiden stormed in.
"Where is she? Where's my wife?"
"She isn't here." Gerard said.
"Bull! I knew I shouldn't have let her leave. She always comes here. The whore."
"She's not here, Aiden." Gerard growled.
"If I found out you're lyin' Way, I'll kill you." He stormed out, slamming the door behind him.
She came out.
"Thanks for that." She whispered.
"Anything for you." He said. She smiled.
"I should get out of here before he comes back." She said.
"You don't have to. Like I said, I can handle it." He said.
"I'm not putting you at risk. I'll go to the cemetery so he thinks I just slept there. Sorry for the trouble."
"Hey. You're no trouble. I like being with you, so never apologize for comin' over. Alright? Take care of yourself and call me when you get home." She nodded.
"Thank you for everything Gerard. You're an angel."
"Awww it's all good Babe. Love ya." He hugged her.
"Love ya more." She smiled.
"No." He shook his head, expression serious. She stared at him.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"Nothing." He smiled quickly. "See you later." She nodded and opened the door.
"Bye. Thanks again." If she hadn't closed the door she might have heard him say that he meant he loved her more than anything. But she didn't.
