Sorry every one!! Uh I hate that I have to delay this for so long. So here you all go. ^_^
The drive to my house was awkward and quiet. My truck refused to start and he demanded rather than offered to give me a ride. He stared straight ahead his expression bitter and cold. I stared out the window, feeling like he was mad at me rather than the vampires. Just before the turn to my house he turned around and continued in the opposite direction. I stared at him but he offered no explanation. He pulled into an empty parking lot and parked. We sat there in silence for a few minutes before he turned to me, his eyes softer than before, but still dark and angry. "You didn't need to be back in a hurry did you?" He asked. I shook my head. "My parents are out of town." He nodded and sighed, his expression softening completely. "That was a close call out there. He could have killed me. Or worse." He seemed to be struggling. "I need you to make me a promise. This is the most serious thing I could ever ask anyone, so do not make the promise if you can't keep it." He waited. "Alright.." I said. "I need you to swear to me that if they get me; the leeches I mean. If they turn me you have to kill me." I stared at him, shocked. "As soon as you can if I get turned you have to stake my heart. Can you promise me that?" "I don't know." I murmured. He sighed and I felt like I was letting him down. "I'll do my best. I can promise that." I said. He nodded slowly. "Fair enough." I swallowed and looked out the window again. "Then you promise that you won't let them." I said. He didn't answer so I looked back to him. He was staring at me his eyes unreadable. "I promise." He said finally. I looked away, unable to hold his stare for more than a few seconds. "Vivica." He whispered. "Yes?" "Thank you for being there for me. I think.. I think that if you hadn't been there they might have killed me." "It was nothing." I said. There was another long silence between us and I started to feel claustrophobic. "I swear I won't let them get you." He said, his voice strained. I looked at him and his face was bitter again. "Are you okay?" I asked softly. "That blond one. He was looking at you. When I think about it he was REALLY looking at you. The bastard." "I'm sure he was just thinking that I looked more frightening than he did." "You don't look scary. You're beautiful." He said. "He was looking at you like... Like.. like a goal. I don't like that." ""Jealous?" An icy voice muttered. We both jumped and looked up. Derreck stood out my window, smiling. "I know I know. Speak of the devil." He laughed softly. When Gerard didn't laugh with him his smile faded slightly. "Oh don't worry I wasn't listening to your conversation. I came in a couple seconds ago." "What do you want, demon?" Gerard spat. The vampire was unabashed. "Oh I just wanted to befriend you. Honestly, you're so very defensive. You know there are those of us out there that don't want to kill? I think you have spark and I think we'd make a good team." He looked at me for the last sentence and Gerard noticed. "Leave her alone." He hissed. I'd never seen anyone so angry. I stared at him. "Gerard calm down." I whispered. "Yes Gerard. Calm down." Derreck smirked. I took Gerard's hand and he let out a deep breath. "Oh are you a couple?" He said in false innocence. "I didn't think you were." "I don't befriend monsters." Gerard said. "Well then we should get along fine. See, I'm not a monster. And I'll prove it to you." He looked at me again. "The hell you're not!" Gerard shouted. Derreck ignored him and smiled at me, his silver eyes twinkling. "Would you like to see a magic trick?" He asked. Before I could answer he backed away a few steps and showed that there was nothing up his sleeves. He winked at me and pretended to cough. As he pulled his hands away from his face he pulled a bouquet of black roses slowly out of his mouth. I laughed despite Gerard's growl behind me. Derreck stared at the flower's in false disgust. "How did those get in there?" He said. I giggled and he smiled apologetically to me. "These are the wrong roses." He said. "Black roses represent death. I swallowed red ones. I don't know how they turned black." "Maybe because you're heart dyed all the rest of your insides black." Gerard muttered. "I heard that." The vampire mused. "Oh well. It's not a problem." He snapped his fingers and the roses turned red and doubled. I gasped. "How did you do that?" I asked, trying to solve it in my head. "Oh well if I told you that I'd be breaking the magician's code. Or maybe I can't explain it. Maybe it's real magic, eh?" He handed me the roses through the glass of the window, delighting me more. "You can't reach through glass!" I cried. "Well obviously I can." He laughed. I took the roses and he smiled. "Now what do red roses represent again? Black death, white friendship, red...." He pretended to be confused and I smiled, blushing. "Ah yes. Love. I remember now. Red roses for the lady. Tell your beau that he's steaming up the car. You might want to cool him down." "I'll kill you." Gerard growled. "You're no fun." The vampire said, frowning. "Well I suppose I should go. The big bad hunter wasn't impressed by the magic show." I couldn't hide my disappointment and his crooked smile returned. "Don't worry love. I'll be back when lover boy isn't around to threaten me with pointy wooden objects and rosaries. Which don't work, by the way. Don't believe what you read." And with that he was gone. "I can't believe you!" Gerard bellowed. I stared at him. "You let his filthy blood stained hands touch you! You indulged his fancy and now he thinks you'll be easy. Which by the way you were puddy in his hands I wouldn't doubt that you'd ASK him to bite you! You betrayed me. How could you be so ignorant! What the hell were you thinking!?" "Gerard.." I whispered. "Don't even. I need to think." I stared at him a second more, my heart sinking. "Okay." I said. I opened the door and got out. "Where are you going?" He asked. "I can walk my self home from here." I said softly. "You said you needed to think so I'll give you space. "Vivica," His expression changed to guilty. "I'm fine." I said. "And I'm sorry." I walked away and the tears threatened to spill. I swallowed them back and hugged myself. The one person that didn't snub me for being different and I just screwed it up by flirting with his enemy the instant he tells me to be cautious. Stupid stupid stupid. The tears came and I shuttered, wallowing. "Vivica." I spun around and Derreck stood there, his expression worried. "Did I screw things up between you two?" "Not you." I answered. "Me." He came to me and held me. His skin was freezing cold but soothing. "I'm sorry." He said. "Me too." I muttered. "Do you need a ride home?" "Oh no I'm alright." "I insist." He said. "I screwed things up with your boyfriend, I should give you a ride home at least." "You didn't mess anything up. And I really don't need a ride. Thank you for the offer though." "Then I'll walk with you." He said. "You look like you could use some company." I thought about how Gerard would disapprove. "I guess that would be okay." I said. He took the bouquet of roses from my hands. "I'll carry these for you." He smiled. "Thank you." I said. He nodded. "Anything you want." He said. I looked down. "You're too nice." I murmured. "Think nothing of it. So you lead the way." And we started walking despite the voice in the back of my head that was Gerard begging me to turn the vampire down.

Glad you guys like it. ^.^ Let's continue, shall we? Oh yeah, and did you get the impression that Derreck was British? He's not but reading it back to myself he sounded British. Haha! Anywho..
We reached my house and he walked me up to my door. "Thanks." I said softly. He handed me the roses and I smiled. "Don't mention it." He said. "It was the least I could do." I turned to the door but he grabbed my arm and pulled me back with super human strength. I choked out a frazzled incoherent response, falling on my butt. "I hear someone inside your house." He said. I listened but heard nothing. "It's probably just my cat." I said, confused. "No. It's a human. You said your parents weren't home, correct?" "I thought you said you weren't listening in on the conversation." I said. "Oh.. Right. Ha, sorry about that...." He looked like a child that had just fessed up to getting in to the cookie jar. It was adorable. "Whatever." I smiled. "How about you come in with me and make sure there's no bad guy." "Well I AM only allowed to come in when invited according to the legends. How do you know I won't bite you when we go inside?" He smirked. "You had a lot of chances to kill me on the way here. I don't think you'd choose to bite me just because I go into my house." He smiled and opened the door, looking around before he let me go in. I couldn't see anything in the darkness, but he seemed to see like it was daytime. He went in and I followed, taking of my hoodie and putting on the coat rack. Something moved and he pushed me behind him, hissing. "Vivica-" It was Gerard. "Oh. he's with you." I moved away from Derreck's defense and looked at Gerard. "Derreck just walked me home and he heard you inside. He thought you were a burglar or something so he came in to make sure I wasn't in any danger." I explained. Gerard scoffed, turning away. I sighed, feeling helpless. "Gerard.." "I think I should go." Derreck whispered. I was surprised to see him next to me. I didn't hear him move. I turned, smiling apologetically. "It was nice meeting you tonight. You brightened my life up a bit." He kissed my cheek and was gone. I gasped, wondering how he was there one minute and disappeared the next. Gerard turned and tilted his head. "He-" I nodded. "He poofed." I said. I saw a small smile spread on his face but it was gone as quick as it appeared. He walked to me, his eyes unreadable in the dark. "You let him walk you home?" He asked. "Gerard, I-" He cut me off, kissing me. When he pulled away I was speechless. "Look, I know I was really harsh. I came to apologize. I don't like him. I don't trust him. It's obvious that he likes you and I guess I got really jealous." "Oh that's .. Wait. How did you get in?" "I found the key on top of the porch light. You really ought to move it, it was way too easy to find." "So you don't hate me?" I asked, smiling. "No, of course not!" He said. "I could never hate you. I was just really mad and the way you looked at him, I just got so jealous." He hugged me and I sighed. "But what you did was dangerous. He knows where you live now. He knows your weaknesses. He could easily kill you." "Sorry." I said. "It's not like you were thinking. I mean hell, even I want to hit that" I laughed. "And I'm not saying that the only reason he'd talk to you is because you'd make a good dinner. He must have just got lost in your eyes like I do." I smiled and he kissed me again. "I should go." "You don't have to." I said, failing to hide how desperate for him to stay I was. "If I stay I might never want to leave." He said, holding me. "Oh." "I'll be back tomorrow, kay?" "Okay." He kissed me and walked out, leaving me with a lonely feeling in the pit of my stomach.
